How Does It Feel?

That natural inclination we all have for former days. Examined.

An endeavor into the childlike, I journeyed back in order to understand what lies ahead. Fascinated by the the role nostalgia plays in our lives, I sought to figure out why. Ultimately it came down to this simple thought: Maybe we cary this natural posture for the past because we’ve left something there that we need for the days ahead. The key to the future is actually found in our past. Now let’s go find it.

Equipped with Virgil Abloh’s definition of design language as “those through lines in your work which existed both currently and before you even consciously knew what design was,” I began my search. This journey to understand nostalgia had actually become a process by which I uncovered my own design language. This exploration exposed various personal design aspects, such as beautiful searching lines. The wayward lines with which I draw that somehow reflect that never-ending exploratory form of thought of mine. Furthermore I began to understand time as a muse. That ever present, ever changing muse. The lens through which I see art.

Ultimately, this collection plays an important role in that its realization of my own personal design language. Pairing a hand-drawn graphic & melodic words with assorted vintage tees invites others into this exploration with me. It connects a purpose for nostalgia to unique memories represented by various vintage graphics. These repurposed tees invite us all to be Just Kids.
